Dignity Village, which closed in March 3, 2021, was located in Matamoras, Mexico which is where I was inspired to write this novel. This novel tells about two young boys who show that through the faith and love of God, helping others, and staying devoted and true to their families, they are able to have the strength to make it through difficult times.

My Story
My name is Marsha Ralston, I am a known children's author and an active member of the Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators as well as KIDLIT.
I grew up in Texas, 10 miles from the Mexican border. It is usual: to go into a grocery store and see signs with Spanish on one side and English on the other, to go across the bridge and eat dinner or party, to have celebrations like “Charro Days” where bands would come over from Mexico to play along with the high school bands here in the valley, and to help each other during droughts, harvesting crops, and hurricanes.
My mission in life is to be humble. I believe that if good comes to you, you should pay it forward to others.
My vision is to show in my books, the love of the Rio Grande Valley people. During the hurricanes, droughts and celebrations, people’s lives on both sides become intertwined.
